Honey bees

I took the honey off the bees last night and today I winterized the hives. I am very sore from lifting. The weight of the honey was 530 pounds. I also dug around and cleared the grass away from the hives.

I was worried about one of the hives losing its Queen bee, but I saw her today. I think the hive will be okay now. I put in some mite strips to control the mites. The one hive does have mites.
